Aloe once grew wild in Shirahama. In the Itado-Ichiki area, where it was especially abundant, locals tended the flowers and developed walking paths to create an Aloe Village. Enjoy the blooms of Kidachi aloe against the blue sea and the Izu Shichito in the background. The best viewing season runs from early December to late January. During the Aloe Flower Festival, held for about a month from early December, you can buy aloe plants and enjoy complimentary miso soup.
