Weeping Cherry Blossoms at Hohon Temple

A large weeping cherry tree, estimated to be 200 years old, stands in the front garden of Hohonji Temple.

About 15 meters tall with a spread of roughly 20 meters, this cherry is designated as the city's natural monument and draws many hanami visitors during its peak in early April each year.

From Izukyu-Shimoda Station, take Tokai Bus from platform 5 bound for Dogashima or Ugusu, and get off immediately at the Sansuinmae bus stop.
