The Former Sawamura Residence, at the end of Perry Road, features namako walls and Izu stone construction; it was built in 1915.
Its namako wall exterior has since been preserved and restored while the building received seismic retrofits and a new restroom, and it now welcomes visitors as Shimoda City’s free rest facility.
