Somei-Yoshino

Along Inaosawa River near Izukyu-Shimoda Station, a 730-meter row of cherry trees lines the banks around Hongo Park.
About 270 Somei Yoshino trees border a riverside promenade, their branches arching overhead like a tunnel and reaching out above the water.
Each year in early April, lanterns decorate the trees during the bloom, creating a magical evening hanami experience.
